About Me

My photo
I'm 57 years old, working full time, wife, mother and grand mother, wishing that I wasn't working full time! I love and enjoy our children and grandchildren, our dogs and cat, our garden and allotment. I love crafts - knitting, sewing, crocheting, patchwork and restoring old furniture. I love to go to country auctions and love thinking that I've got my self a bargain!

Happy Days

It was my hubby's 63rd birthday yesterday so we went out for the afternoon to Church Stretton or Little Switzerland as it is otherwise known due to it's close proximity to The Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley.

We had a wonder around the town and around the antiques centre which was formally a mill and is over 3 floors - it's a brilliant way to spend an hour as they have lots of items to suit all pockets.

From there we cut through the countryside, through Bridgenorth. The fields have just a tinge of vibrant green starting to appear and in some of the fields the little black and white lambs were hopping about. and then onto my daughters to see our Granddaughters.

It's great when you have a birthday because you know the girls know what's in the presents but they are so eager to open them for you because they're so excited for you to see what they've brought you. Our 6 year Granddaughter had wrote his card herself and wrote 'I love you so much Grandpa' - We both had a lump in our throats when we read it. Bless her.

Today we've spent outside working on the garden - I've been potting up seeds, so far in the propagators there are pots of Thyme, Mint, Garlic Chives, Chives, Coriander, Basil, Rosemary, Hot Chili Peppers, Mild Chili Peppers and some Sweet Peppers. I've also started off some white tuberous Begonias and white Sweet Peas. In the greenhouse I've started the Parsnips, Winter Lettuce, Sprouts, Cauliflowers and Broccoli.

Next week, I'll start the Broad Beans and Tomatoes so it's all systems go for the greenhouse and garden.

It's surprising isn't it how a sunny day in the garden  can lift your spirits?

Hope you've all had a good weekend

Take care
